Christopher Preece is a trained composer and multi-instrumentalist working in theatre, dance and film. He has toured internationally and throughout the UK to venues such as Sadler's Wells, and the Royal Albert Hall.
He studied counterpoint, orchestration and aesthetics with Simon Clarke (RNCM), and later studied jazz at TrinityLaban under Simon Purcell, Dave Wickins, and Mark Lockheart.
He is a flexible sound and music artist working with electronic and acoustic instruments. He has produced live and recorded scores for touring and site-specific theatre. He also enjoys working in choral and popular song, setting and arranging for solo and ensemble.
He has worked at such venues and companies as Derby Theatre, New Art Club, Unicorn Theatre, Royal Exchange Theatre, BBC Radio 2, Sadler's Wells, National Theatre, Graeae Theatre and more.

As an instrumentalist, Christopher has brought many original scores composed by himself and others to the stage. He specialises in bringing multiple simultaneous elements together, including voice, electronics, percussion. He is an experienced actor muso, having taken both clown and movement workshops, and has a passion for both poetry and humour. Performance showreel below.
